It's no secret....

It's no secret that Trevor has challenges. Behaviorally, he has truely matured so far this year, but intellectually- not so good. WE know there is something there, something we can't put our finger on exactly, that is causing him to struggle so much with school. It isn't that he doesnt love school- he does.
We had parent-teacher conferences tonight. I met with their CARE team and the teacher and he will be tested extensively through his school for all forms of learning disablilities (like dyslexia), Autism (high functioning) and ADHD. From there, we will discuss an individualized education plan (IEP) to help him be the best he can be. This is great news. He will recieve all services through school.
We ask for your love and support. We know Trevor is challenging to be around- but giving us behavioral advice is hurtful when you dont live with him day in and day out. What may look like a bad day to you is actually a good day for us. Trevor knows he has challenges too. Please help us build his esteem and not discuss his "issues' in front of him. He is becoming more aware of his differences in the classroom and we want to protect him from disliking school. We want to foster his love for it.
If you got this far, thank you so much. Trevor needs all of his family and friends to support him.
